WhatsApp

WhatsApp links a phone to the agent as an additional device. It is intended for internal coordination and controlled use cases, not public support or large-scale messaging.
IMPORTANT: unofficial connection
The WhatsApp connection uses WhatsApp Web and is not an official integration. Its use can cause the linked phone account to be blocked. Use it at your own risk and avoid linking critical, personal, or customer-support accounts.
Before linking an account
Use a dedicated account when possible and limit the channel to strictly necessary chats. Linking gives access to the WhatsApp device; it does not automatically authorize an agent to handle all conversations. Complete that control in Kujira with allowed chats and mention rules.

The allow list controls the chats from which the agent accepts messages. If it is empty, all inputs are blocked. Add only the conversations needed: linking the phone does not itself grant permission to handle them.
To identify your own operator safely, open a chat with yourself from the linked phone and send yourself a message. Kujira can then associate that identity without using the first external contact that writes to the account as its reference.
Groups require a mention by default. Keep that rule in shared groups so the agent does not process unrelated conversations; create exceptions only in groups dedicated to it.

Unlinked
From the channel details, you can unlink the phone or temporarily disable the channel without deleting its configuration. If you stop using the integration, first unlink the device from WhatsApp too.
