Activities

Activities let you follow each agent's work from the dashboard. You can see what it is doing, what it is waiting for, and how it has progressed without asking in the chat.
The agent creates an activity when an assignment needs follow-up, such as reviewing a pull request, waiting for approval, or checking a deployment's outcome. It records progress, indicates when it is waiting for something, and closes the activity when the work is finished. Assignments it completes in a single reply do not need an activity.
Use the dashboard to view these activities and request updates. To give the agent work, use the conversation.

Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Running | The agent is working on it. |
| Waiting | It is waiting for approval, a reply, work from subagents, or a scheduled time to check something again. |
| Done | The work is finished. The summary records the outcome. |
| Failed | The work could not be completed. The summary explains why. |
| Cancelled | The work was cancelled, for example because it was no longer needed or there was no response. See Deadlines and reminders. |
Open an activity to view its progress history, origin (Internal chat, Channel, Scheduled task, Another agent, or Subagent), and a link to the related resource, such as a pull request or an order. Select Open conversation to go to the chat where the agent is handling that work.
Ask for an update
Select Refresh on an open activity to ask the agent to check its status and record the latest progress. The request appears in the history, and the button shows Waiting for the agent until it responds. The response adds a progress update or changes the activity's status if the work is already finished.
- You need permission to message the agent and view its activities.
- The agent must be running to receive the request.
- You can request one update per minute for each activity. This limit applies per person.
- The request starts an agent turn and consumes model usage, just like a chat message.
Deadlines and reminders
If the agent puts an activity on hold to review it later, it must specify when it will check again. That time can be no more than 48 hours away.
If that time passes without an activity update, Kujira sends the agent a reminder in the corresponding conversation. The reminder repeats every hour until the agent responds. After five consecutive unanswered reminders, the activity is cancelled and its history shows Abandoned: no one was answering.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Review time passed with no update | The agent receives a reminder, repeated every hour until it responds. |
| Five reminders in a row with no answer | The activity is cancelled. |
| Running activity with no changes for seven days | The activity is cancelled. |
| Activity finished more than 30 days ago | The activity and its history are deleted. |
An agent can have up to 100 open activities at a time.
Internal reminders
These reminders are addressed to the agent. If the activity belongs to a conversation with a customer or contact, the agent is instructed not to mention the reminder in its replies.
Who can see them
To view activities, you need the Activities permission, managed under Team. Every role includes it by default. If you remove it from someone, activities no longer appear for them on Home, in the chat, or in the agent's Activities tab.
This permission lets you see activities for agents you have access to. Viewing the details also requires access to the original conversation. Without that access, you see Private activity, with no title or history. It is included in the agent's activity count, but its content stays hidden.
Turn them on or off
In Agents, open the agent and go to Settings > Capabilities. Enable Activities to let it create, update, and close its activities, or disable it to block those actions. See Behaviour for the other capabilities.
